Introduction

Moonglade, Azeroth
Hello all, For those of you that know me, you will probably know I am a restokin druid that has made some average borderline-poor druid pvps/duels that entertain and touch the hearts of no one at all. I have read the typical type of blogs generally posted these days and the majority of these go into events or activities that have occured to them that day. These work as an effective online diary to entertain the reader and allow them learn from their wise or rather stupid decisions. Unfortunately for you, this will not be the case for me, I keep my social life and sitting behind the computer life separate. So if you are wanting to know who I slept with, who I nearly slept with, who I didn't sleep with, who I wish I slept with and what I watched on TV the next morning; then this isn't the blog for you. Although I may often make reference to occurring events to support points I may make, thats about as personal as it will get. For the rest of it you get to enjoy my charming Filipino way of typing and a look at the PvP element of World of Warcraft through my eyes and fingers.

Help the Healers - Druid (patch 3.0.x)

Today I am going to have a quick look at the class that will have a hard time in the early days in a very much burst damage based arena scene.

Remember this is from a 3rd person perspective, I would really like further comments and insight on how healers will evolve once resilience gear fully kicks in.

Druid is a currently closed Pandora’s box, you can see all the potential of each spec becoming an arena dominator, but none quite make it as yet. Balance has proven to be a very good dps/cc class that works in many combos that can also provide the lifesaving heals when needed to give your team that advantage over another dps based team that may not have a healer. Feral has the crazed burst along with a fear breaker which was much needed, so surely they would fit the bill for early arena? Unfortunately not quite, they will find cat form which is their main meat and bones will die extremely quick if caught out too long. They will need to get a fast kill before switching bear for them to really cut the cake and be as effective as a rogue would be. Despite this I am not completely decided with Feral, I cannot see it surpassing Balance as it stands as the Moonkin provides the defense and range that will be needed to be effective damage dealer early on. A feral without the rogue survival benefits will have to sacrifice damage to be able to take a beating, however if they manage to survive long enough, perhaps that’s all that is needed for the teammates to deal with the enemy. Time will tell with feral.

Resto druids, which is the main focus however I can see struggling a lot early on. As their heals are largely based on healing over time and one thing is certain for the coming arena- you do not get 'time'. Another kick in the bollocks is the new Death Knight class proven to be a rather devastating meet for resto druids to come across, so even when resilience does come into force, I cannot see them ever having the same ownership they had in TBC, but that in my eyes and I am sure many other people’s eyes, is not something we will sympathize over. Unfortunately for these guys, it is quite clear cut that they will not be hitting the high ratings unless supported with really good teammates.
